ASHEVILLE, N.C. — On Sunday April 18, the Botanical Gardens at Asheville (BGA)
will celebrate its 50th anniversary from 2 – 5 pm (rain or shine) in the Sunshine Meadow at 151 W.T. Weaver Boulevard. The event is free to members and open to the community for a $10 per person donation. (Individual member = 1 free ticket; all other membership categories = 2 free tickets). RSVPs are requested.
“The story of the Botanical Gardens at Asheville is really inspiring,” said
Heather Rayburn, BGA staff member and 50th event chair. “Our anniversary party will be a thank you to all the amazing people who turned a rough patch of grounds into a botanically rich oasis of native plants. It’s also a huge ‘thank you’ to all who have nurtured and supported us through the years, as well as an invitation to new people to learn about our unique mission.”
The 50th anniversary party will feature hors d'oeuvres by Feel Good Foods; Appalachian string music by the Buncombe Bumpkins; garden tours by BGA naturalists; and a silent auction available for preview at

The 50th anniversary garden party is sponsored by 12 Bones Smokehouse, Integritive, Equinox Environmental, Mountain Xpress, Shortstreet Cakes, Kotara Studios, and a host of other fine businesses and supporters.
