Happy 50th Anniversary, BGA!

In 1960, a group of local citizens approached UNC-Asheville and asked for a place to showcase plants native to the Southern Appalachians. They were concerned about the loss of biodiversity and the dwindling number of native plant habitats. This year, we pay tribute to those visionaries and all the members and other supporters who have made this 10-acre native plant sanctuary possible.

Proclamation news:  County and City honor BGA ... Buncombe County declares 2010 "Year of the Botanical Gardens."
